Oyo Commissioner Applauds Education Partners, Calls for Stronger Collaboration



The Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Salihu Adelabu, has expressed appreciation to Education Development Partners, including the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission, Partnership for Learning for All in Nigeria (PLANE), SEED Care and Support Foundation, and other corporate organizations for their commitment to educational development.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of a two-day training for Quality Assurance Officers in the South-West, organized by DAWN Commission and PLANE at Bon Hotel, Ibadan, Prof. Adelabu emphasized the critical role of education in national development. He urged partners to sustain their efforts in enhancing education standards across the region.

The Director, Federal Quality Assurance Agency, Mr. Adegboye Adebola, highlighted the importance of standardization in education, stating that quality education is the foundation of a thriving society. He stressed that quality assurance officers play a crucial role in bridging policy and practice to uphold excellence.

In his remarks, Dr. Seye Oyeleye, Director-General of DAWN Commission, reiterated the need for uniform education standards, ensuring that students are globally competitive. He emphasized that quality education should be accessible to all children, regardless of the type of school they attend.

Mrs. Lanre Oniyitan (SEED Care & Support Foundation) and Mrs. Abiola Sanusi (Federal Lead, PLANE) urged participants to maximize the training’s impact, reinforcing that strengthening quality assurance is vital to effective basic education delivery.

The event reinforced the shared responsibility of stakeholders in shaping the future of education in Nigeria.
