OYO GOVERNMENT TRAINS 1260TEACHERS ........seeks quality teaching deliveries



Oyo state Government, through the Post Primary Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has trained about One Thousand, Two Hundred and Sixty (1260) Public Secondary School Teachers across its Ten zones in the State, which includes; Ibadan zone I, Ibadan zone II, Ibadan zone III, Ibadan zone IV, Oyo zone, Ogbomosho zone, Eruwa zone, Kisi zone, Saki zone and Iseyin zone on, relevant Management, Methodology and Teaching Skills.

 The TESCOM  Chairman,  Pastor Akinade Alamu, in his admonishment, at the Oba Akinbiyi School 2, Mokola, Ibadan, venue of the Capacity Building, expressed his gratitude to the State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his passions  towards organizing various training to equip teachers, so as to promoting the sector , and to raised the standard of Education in the State.

He stated that Oyo State TESCOM under the progressive administration of peoples Governor, Engineer Makinde is poised at ensuring that teachers in the State operate at optimal level as a result of adequate training, to ensure good service delivery, that would inspire students and all stakeholders in the State's Educational Sector. 

He further explained that TESCOM is committed to lead the pathway for change in reviving some of the most important and noble issues that underpins the State's Post Primary Educational Sector, also that the issue of teaching methodology adopted by instructors and teachers is a fundamental one which goes a long way in determining learning outcomes.

He said if teachers are sound and competent but unable to effectively impact their students with requisite knowledge, the objectives of learning and teaching will not be sucessfully achieved

Akinade disclosed that methodologies and approaches change from time to time with recent and modern development, hence the need to train and retrain teachers on various and modern approaches cannot be over emphasized.

In his remark, the Acting Permanent Secretary TESCOM, Rev. Adekunle Adesola stated that teachers are veritable tools in transferring knowledge and values to both present and coming generation, he said teachers belong to a noble profession that could not be rubished except to ones peril.

He said that Teachers remains agent of development as the development of a nation is proportional to the attention given to it's Educational Sector.

Adekunle further expressed his profound gratitude to the State Governor who approved the organization of the workshop, which is one of the ways of showing his commitment to Educational Sector from Primary School level to
 University level.

In his good will message  Tutor- General Ibadan zone I TESCOM, Mr, Babatunde Onifade explained that, this is another opportunity given to teachers by Oyo State Government through the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde to upgrade teachers  through Training and retraining.

He also appreciated Governor Makinde for the approval of the training, and described him as someone who has adopted Education as his own baby, and that is why he is putting in so much effort in taking Education in the state to an higher level.

Babatunde therefore urged the teachers that were present at the event to take all that they have learnt back to their various schools, to become internal facilitators to their colleagues, that it should be a continuous event.
